Aboitiz’s infrastructure arm, Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC), is set to enter the data center business after it signed a partnership deal with EdgeConneX (ECX), a data center solutions company from the United States.
The partnership between Aboitiz and EdgeConneX will help create a local data center and will offer information technology equipment for cloud service providers. The goal is to help address the increase in data usage in the Philippines.
Aboitiz and EdgeConneX will build the first data center close to the National Capital Region (NCR), while a second hyperscale campus is set to be located in the greater Manila area.

Hyperscale data centers cater to businesses, especially cloud service providers.
The partnership is poised to boost the Philippines’ digital infrastructure ecosystem and will help serve the growing demand in the local scene.
