Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched its own interactive video service (IVS) in the Philippines. IVS is able to provide viewers with a more seamless video content experience when streaming.

Shweta Jain, the head of media and entertainment business development of AWS stated that their IVS system is a fully managed service which makes live-streaming easier and interactive, whether it is through the web or mobile application.

Traditional video streaming considered necessary latencies of 20 up to 30 seconds to make sure the content was ready for high-quality output on a lot of different devices.

In Manila, Amazon’s Points of Presence (PoPs) are mostly delivered through the edge computing, bringing the processing closer to the location of the data.

With IVS, it can streamline and support industries such as e-commerce, travel, and gaming — which could also benefit from using interactive videos in websites and apps.
