It’s no secret that Xiaomi’s smartphone portfolio is one of the most popular line-ups in the Android space. The way how Xiaomi was able to execute these impressive devices, while maintaining an appealing price tag, is the reason behind the company’s success.
Their Redmi series of devices are so popular that they have finally decided to make it a sub-brand. Today, we have the latest Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 as the first flag-barrier of this newly instituted brand.
Just like all of their previous offerings, the Redmi Note 7 is already getting a lot of buzz thanks to the unbelievable features that it was able to pull off for the price.
However, Xiaomi already has tons of other devices in the midrange category. This is why we’re curious to see how this one differs with its similarly-priced cousins like the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite.
Announced back in September of 2018, this handset brags a slew of components that are still relevant and might rival Redmi’s latest.
In our Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 versus Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite specifications and features comparison, we’ll see how they stack up against each other, and ultimately determine which device is right for you.

Well, the result is pretty obvious. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 beats the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite in this comparison.
One of its most obvious wins is the killer 48-megapixel primary camera. This can take more detailed photos, better digital zoom, and brighter low-light photos than the 12-megapixel sensor of the Mi 8 Lite.
The Redmi Note 7 also has a bigger 4,000mAh battery with a faster Quick Charge 4.0 technology. Meanwhile, the Mi 8 Lite only has 3,350mAh worth of juice and comes with the older Quick Charge 3.0.
Xiaomi also kept the headphone jack and the IR blaster on the Redmi Note 7, but disregarded them on the Mi 8 Lite.

Both devices does have an identical 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS screens, but the Redmi Note 7 was able to one-up the latter by having a more sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
As for the performance, we expect both models to deliver a seamless user experience. The two comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with an Adreno 512 GPU.
The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 3GB RAM variant for a more flexible price option. On the other hand, the Mi 8 Lite has a 128GB model, but that shouldn’t be a big factor as you can easily double up your memory via an external storage card.
But still, we gotta hand the win to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. Other than the aforementioned details, this handset is definitely more enticing thanks to its price.
Price starts at CNY999 (~Php7,700) for the 3GB/32GB model, CNY1,199 (~Php9,200) for the 4GB/64GB, and CNY1,399 (~Php10,800) for the 6GB/64GB configuration. Those Philippine prices are direct conversions, so expect them to go up when it officially gets here due to local taxes and other fees.
Still, we don’t expect it to be more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite. This one starts at Php13,990 for the 4GB/64GB variant, while the 6GB/128GB version costsPhp16,990.
This will kill a lot of mid ranged phones.
For sure!
