AMD has unveiled the new Ryzen 8000 APUs with the codename Hawk Point. It is aimed towards client and consumer laptops and notebooks.

The AMD Ryzen 8000 Hawk Point is made out of the Zen 4 architecture, with RDNA 3 graphics architecture, and upgraded NPU for AI-related tasks.

Like the Ryzen 7000 series, this one comes in 9 flavors, starting with the Ryzen 3 8840U with Radeon 740M graphics and 15-30W TDP, up to the Ryzen 9 8945HS at 35-54W with Radeon 780M. You can check the full line-up below:

The main improvements on the new Hawker Point APUs have something to do with AI, which will make it future-proof as Windows 12 and other programs are expected to adapt AI further in years to come.

That said, the new APUs offer up to 16TOPS of AI computing power.

The new Ryzen 8000 series will be showcased at CES 2024 and shall come with laptops that will be arriving in the first quarter of next year.
