Age of Empires, one of the most popular strategy video games in the world, is coming to mobile.
The Age of Empires Mobile will be launching on both the Google Play Store for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS on October 17, 2024. The game is co-developed by TiMi Studio Group — the company behind Call of Duty Mobile and Pokemon Unite — and World’s Edge, an Xbox Games Studio.
With the mobile version, fans can expect the familiar elements that made the series a classic, now fit and specifically tailored for the smaller screen.
Before the official launch, fans can now participate in on-stie events at the Xbox booth during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Fans can also now pre-register for the game on both Play Store and App Store. They can also join the game’s official Discord channel.
In a press release, the company shared a couple of new features for the Age of Empires Mobile:
- Multiple single-player modes built on the Age of Empires lineage and featuring iconic elements from the original series
- Options to build your empire in a lively, realistic medieval world, featuring stunning civilizations, imperial cities, and historical figures
- Immersive battlefields offering one-of-a-kind original gameplay with large-scale castle sieges, featuring realistic weapons taking on multi-dimensional defenses in a fight with thousands of players worldwide
- Opportunities to be strategic as you encounter realistic and interactive terrain and weather and manage multiple troops with real-time micro-control
Players can pick from a bunch of leaders for their armies: Barbarossa, Hammurabi, Darius the Great, Leonidas I, and Joan of Arc — all of which have unique talents and synergies.
