Anbernic has showcased the upcoming refresh to its popular GameBoy-like handheld gaming console, which it’s officially calling the Anbernic RG40XX V.
The new Anbernic RG40XX V comes with a 4-inch IPS full-tilt display that has a sharp 640 x 480 resolution and much narrower bezels. It runs on a 64-bit Linus operating system and works with over 30 gaming platforms.
According to the demo below, it can run classic games like Grand Theft Auto III and GTA: Vice City, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, Stardew Valley, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Metal Slug 7, Crazy Taxi, and more.

Anbernic also included a more ergonomic single joystick design and better customizability with 16 million color RGB lighting with five ambient modes. You can also adjust the lighting’s brightness.
The company claims that it has a chipset capable of emulating games from the PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast.
Like the RG40XX H before it, it will have the same 3,200mAh battery. It will also have a pair of shoulder buttons, a front-facing single speaker, a volume rocker on the side, and a microSD card slot. Pricing and availability details are yet to be announced, so stay tuned for that.
