ASUS ROG Strix XG27VQ

Everybody seems to go crazy about every gaming computer accessories and peripherals out there. As a result of their high-performance prowess, these type of gizmos tend to be really expensive. But that’s what ASUS is trying to address with their new gaming monitor — the ASUS ROG Strix XG27VQ.

The ASUS ROG Strix XG27VQ is aimed for those budget conscious gamers who crave for a good-looking and performing monitor. Priced at USD349.99 (around Php18,000), this 27-inch curved monitor packs more punch than any other similar-sized displays out there at the same price range.

First things first, the monitor does have RGB. The lights are then synced to ASUS’ Aura LED lighting system for better controls.

Specs wise, the panel has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. As expected, the downgrade from a 1440p and 4k resolution was the reason behind its cheaper price tag. But on the brighter note, a 1080p panel is said to be the sweet-spot for FPS performance. So at least we have that.

And speaking of FPS, it has a 144Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync compatibility. The monitor also offers ASUS’ Extreme Low Motion Blue (ELBM) technology that smoothens the visuals during fast-moving frames.

Taking a look at the back, the display has a DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI v1.4, Dual-link DVI-D, and a headphone jack.

Local pricing and availability are yet to be announced. But considering the rapid growth of the PC gaming industry in the Philippines, we can expect the ASUS ROG Strix XG27VQ to be available here very soon.
