Have you heard? Saudi Arabia, through the Saudi Esports Federation, is celebrating Gamers8, an eight-week long esports and gaming event in the capital city of Riyadh. Professional teams from all over the world have been invited to compete across popular titles, including Dota 2.

Officially called Riyadh Masters 2022, this offline Dota 2 tournament features ten teams that include PSG.LGD, Team Spirit, and Team Secret. Regional winners of the online charity event Gamers Without Borders are also playing in the tournament: Team Liquid, Royal Never Give Up, and Deboosters.

Dota 2 Riyadh Masters Schedule and Results
The ten participating teams are divided into two groups of five in the Group Stage where they will play in a single round-robin format with best-of-2 matches. The top team from each group will then proceed to the semifinals of the playoffs, whereas teams in second and third place from each group will proceed to the quarterfinals. The remaining four will be eliminated.
The tournament already began on July 20 and is currently in the middle of the group stage matches, which will continue for the next three days. The playoff matches, which including the championship/final match will be in a best-of-three format in a single-elimination bracket, are scheduled on July 23 and 24.
As of this writing, the starting three matches in Group A have concluded. Teams TSM FTX and TSpirit flawlessly won against Liquid and Dbst, respectively. Meanwhile, teams NGX and RNG Up faced against each other and ended in a 1:1 draw.

As the tournament is still in the group stage, team standings are still to be determined. We’ll update this post once we get the information.
Dota 2 Riyadh Masters Prize Pool
The tournament prize pool is $4 million USD, with the tournament champion’s share coming in at $1.5 million. The first runner-up receives $750,000, whereas the bottom two teams each get $100,000.
An additional $100,000 will be given to each team as assistance, regardless of their final ranking in the tournament. Outside of Dota 2 developer Valve’s annual The International tournament, the Riyadh Masters 2022 is notable for having the largest prize pool in Dota 2 esports.
