It’s finally coming. After years and years of rumors, speculations, and even a massive leak, Rockstar Games has finally announced the launch date for the trailer of one of the highly anticipated games of the decade, Grand Theft Auto 6.
The announcement was posted on the official social media pages of Rockstar Games, where the company President and co-founder Sam Houser penned a letter celebrating their 25th anniversary of being founded in 1998.
Houser wrapped the letter by revealing that they will release the first trailer for the “next Grand Theft Auto” in early December.
It goes without saying that a lot of people have been waiting for the next GTA installment. Its predecessor, GTA V, has been holding the fort for over 10 years now. It sold more than 185 million copies worldwide and became the second-best-selling game of all time.
A massive leak last year — which is also considered the biggest leak in gaming history — showcased a couple of in-game GTA 6 footage revealing that it will be set in a fictionalized version of Miami, possibly back to Vice City, and will have a playable female Latina protagonist.
Development for the game reportedly started in 2014 but took longer than its predecessor as Rockstar Games tried to end crunch culture and made a couple of major adjustments to the game.
