Another big and prominent game franchise is coming to mobile. In its Q4 2021 financial results report, Activision Blizzard announced that Warcraft mobile is coming out this year.

CEO Bobby Kotick said to its investors last year that they have created “multiple, mobile, free-to-play Warcraft experiences” that were already in advanced development. Now, the company reveals that Warcraft mobile is coming out sometime this year, but concrete information and a launch date is yet to be revealed.

The report mentions that “Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.”

Rumors regarding the Warcraft mobile started in 2017. A year after, another report claims that Blizzard is working on a Warcraft game similar to Pokemon Go. It’s also said that the game is being developed by an “incubation” team that was created when co-founder Allen Adham made a comeback to the company back in 2016. That’s the same team that built the mobile game Diablo Immortal, which is also coming this 2022.
