The release of mobile action RPG Diablo Immortal has been delayed to the first half of 2022.
In a development update, game studio Blizzard Entertainment cited controller support and late-game PvP content as the reasons behind the delay of Diablo Immortal, which previously had a 2021 release timeframe. The PvE endgame is also being iterated for substantial improvements.
Interestingly, the delay of Diablo Immortal was announced not long after the studio’s parent organization, Activision Blizzard, was served with a lawsuit over allegations of harassment and discrimination against its female employees.
The story in Diablo Immortal is set between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. Like its PC counterparts, Diablo Immortal features several classes, storyline missions, gear collection, and an isometric graphic style. The Paragon leveling system also returns as part of the game’s end-game progression.
Diablo Immortal is currently in alpha testing on iOS and Android.
