The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) announced on Facebook the new CCP Grants program for any Filipino interested to pitch their ideas in game development, animation, and comics.
The said CCP Grants program has the objective of preserving the rich culture of Filipino myths, folktales, and legends.
For Game Development, there is a grant worth up to Php1.5 million. On the other hand, Animation and Comics are allotted up to Php2 million and Php330,000, respectively.
According to CCP, its Board of Trustees earmarked a total of Php20 million in development funding for the purpose of stimulating the local creative economy through providing support in the finances, technology, and education of Filipino creators (local creative businesses, content developers, artists, and students).

In turn, CCP hopes to have more Filipinos encouraged to create their own original content for the preservation of cultural heritage.
The CCP Grants Program is also supported by the following associations: Animation Council of the Philippines (ACPI), Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), KOMIKET, and Creative Content Creators Association of the Philippines (SIKAP).
