The Philippines’ Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is making it easier for Filipinos to register for the national and local election on May 2022 with the launch of its iRehistro website.

With the COMELEC iRehistro website, those who want to be registered voters can fill up all the necessary and required documents online. However, the Commission notes that they will still have to go to COMELEC offices physically.

The physical presence is required for the biometric enrollment. That includes the taking of photograph, fingerprint and signature.

After you fill-up the forms from the iRehistro website, you have to print three copies of the online application forms, go to the office, and have your biometrics enrolled.

Completing the process doesn’t provide certainty of completion, as the Election Registration Board (ERB) still has to approve the application within a scheduled date.

The website was created to streamline the process as much as possible and to limit people’s exposure outside — which is really important in the current era we’re living in.

Other than the registration, the iRehistro website also lets you transfer registration records, reactivate registration record, change name due to legal or erroneous reasons, include your records in the Book of Voters, or reinstate your name in the list of voters.

You can visit the iRehistro website to get started.
