The Department of Education (DepEd) has introduced E-Saliksik, its official research portal, last Monday.
As per DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, E-Saliksik will help provide quality data and help mend the lack of salient resources that are required for policy creation.

“We cannot be formulating major decisions which affect not only our learners, but also the entire country, in terms of politics, in terms of economics, in terms of societal development, just on the basis of guesswork, feelings, or intuition,” says Briones.
The education secretary highlighted that more than doing the research, it’s vital to also translate them to lessons and community works.
E-Saliksik will be DepEd’s platform to share its growing research collection, which will “lower barriers to research availability”. It’s also one of the innovations that the department is seeing that will ultimately improve the lives of Filipino learners.
The E-Saliksik portal wants to encourage information-driven research from the school level up to the national.
E-Saliksik was created under the DepEd Memorandum No. 11, Series of 2022, via the department’s Planning Service Policy Research and Development Division with the help of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
It is nice to see them make solid steps forward.
