The Digital National ID has been officially launched by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) last Monday, June 10, 2024.
As per the PSA, the Digital National ID serves as the official digital version of the national ID. This means that it can also be used as a valid proof of identification for government and private transactions.

Despite the digital version, the PSA will still distribute the physical version to those who have registered with the Philippine Identification System or PhilSys.
As per PSA’s Undersecretary Dennis Mapa, more than 87 million Filipinos who have registered with the national ID system can now access the digital version on their smartphones and computers with internet connection.
To access the digital ID, users will only have to visit the national-id.gov.ph website or download the eGovPH app.
Government agencies such as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) praised the digital ID and cited how it can significantly improve the efficiency and quality of delivering government services to Filipinos.
