To help commuters during the Christmas rush, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that it will start offering 24/7 free rides at the EDSA Bus Carousel.

This is up from the current schedule, which is from 4 AM to 11 PM.

The transportation department said that the 24/7 EDSA Carousel free rides will now start on December 1 instead of the previously announced date, which was supposed to be on the 15th.

This special treat will last until December 31, which can be a big relief to commuters that will be battling the Christmas rush. Also, having a 24-hour free ride on EDSA is more important as mall hours are usually extended during the holiday season.

The EDSA Bus Carousel travels from the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) to Caloocan City, and vice versa.

Unfortunately, it looks like this could be the last phase of the EDSA Carousel free rides as the government didn’t allocate any budget for the program for next year.

The DOTr has already called for the reallocation of the funds for the program so the free ride will continue in 2023.
