The regulation for e-bikes and e-trikes traveling certain major roads has been finally passed.
Metro Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) Regulation No. 24-022, created by the Metro Manila Council (MMC), prohibits e-bikes, e-trikes, tricycles, pedicabs, pushcarts, and kuligligs from traveling circumferential roads, national roads, and radial roads in all cities within the National Capital Region (NCR) starting April 2024.

Those who will be apprehended will face a fine of up to Php2,500. What’s more, those who will drive electric-powered motor vehicles and tricycles will now be required to carry a driver’s license. Those who will be caught without a license will have their vehicles impounded.
