Since the pandemic, we’ve seen Apple allowing users to use their iPhone’s camera as a webcam for their Mac. Finally, Microsoft has launched a similar, official feature that works on Windows 11.
This feature is available to those who are part of the Windows Insider Program. As the feature matures, it should be widely available to more users.

How it works is fairly simple: you can use your Android phone’s camera as a webcam for your Windows 11 computer. This is a great option for desktop PCs that don’t come with an external webcam or if you want an alternative to your built-in webcam with a higher quality.
So, without further ado, here’s a guide on how you can use your Android phone as a Windows 11 webcam:
- Make sure your smartphone runs on Android 9.0 version or later.
- On the smartphone, download the Link to Windows app version 1.24012 or later.
- On the Windows PC, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mobile devices > choose “Manage devices” and click Allow when it requests to access your Android phone.
- Your PC may update the Cross Device Experience Host on the Microsoft Store, which is required for the feature to work.
Windows will also let you switch between the front and rear cameras of your phone.
