Shopee quickly became one of the biggest — if not the biggest — e-commerce platform in the Philippines. More than selling products, the company has also started offering other services for its customers, including the popular ShopeePay.
For those who are not familiar, ShopeePay is present inside the popular online shopping app. It can be used for online transactions like buying goods, mobile load, and even bills payment.
ShopeePay is also being used by the e-commerce website to give refunds to its customers. Once the refund negotiations have been finalized, Shopee will return your money via ShopeePay.
You can use the refund on your next Shopee purchase or any other transactions within the platform. But what if you want to transfer the money to your GCash account? Possibly to withdraw to an ATM machine, send to other users, etc.? Here’s how.
How to transfer from ShopeePay to GCash
Step 1: Open the Shopee app and tap the ShopeePay tab right from the home screen.
Step 2: Tap “Send Money” then “To Other E-Wallet”.
Step 3: On the E-wallet section, select GCash. Then, type the required details such as the GCash account name and number.
Step 4: Type the amount you want to send. If you want to send all, your remaining balance is listed next to it for your reference. You can leave the “Purpose” section empty. After tapping “Next”, review if all the details are correct. Once clear, tap “Send Money Now”.
Step 5: The confirmation screen will show you that the transaction is “In Progress”. It will turn to “Complete” in minutes, if not seconds, once the process has been successful.
But what if you want to top-up your ShopeePay account via GCash? This one is relatively easier than the other way around, just follow the step-by-step guide below.
How to transfer money from GCash to ShopeePay
Step 1: You’d still have to use the Shopee app instead of GCash for this process. That said, open the Shopee app and tap the ShopeePay Tab.
Step 2: Tap “Cash In”. Then, tap “Payment Center / e-wallet” and choose GCash.
Step 3: Pick or type your desired amount then tap “Pay Now”. Confirm that everything is correct then tap “Pay”.
Step 4: Login to your GCash account by typing your number, then the OTP for verification, and your GCash’s 4-digit MPIN. Once completed, you shall receive a message confirming that the transaction was successful. The amount shall be reflected immediately to your ShopeePay account.
