SmartWiFi LRT stations

Last month, Smart Communications partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)  and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to offer FREE WiFi in MRT stations and along EDSA. Now, the company is also extending the FREE SmartWiFi in LRT-1 Stations.

This new expansion aims to add FREE SmartWiFi service in Gil Puyat, Pedro Gil, UN Avenue, Abad Santos,  and R. Papa LRT-1 stations. This allows the commuters waiting on the said stations to utilize Smart’s FREE WiFi service for 30 minutes with no data caps.

The service is also not exclusive to Smart subscribers. And if you wish to stay connected for more than 30 minutes, you may extend the limit by purchasing #SmartWiFi loads on their partner retailers.

Price starts at Php20 for the extra 2 hours which is valid for two days. You can also opt for the Php50 denomination that gives you 10 hours of WiFi connection, consumable for five days.

If you’re a Smart, Sun, or TNT subscriber, you can instantly purchase #SmartWiFi loads via your existing balance. Simply text your preferred domination and send it to 9991. You can type WIFI10 for an extra 30 minutes, WIFI20 for 2 hours, and WIFI50 for 10 hours.

The rise of SmartWiFi in LRT-1 Stations is just a part of the company’s plan to roll out the service nationwide. And with that in mind, we can expect the FREE WiFi service to be available in more public places soon.
