We all know that a monthly internet plan in the Philippines is expensive, and this new report from Picodi immortalizes that.
The report basically states that the internet prices in the Philippines are one of the most expensive around the world. In fact, of all the 85 countries on the list of having the most expensive internet prices, the Philippines ranked 21.
Picodi arranged the list depending on how expensive a 100Mbps internet plan per month is in each country (100Mbps is the most common speed offered across the world). However, major ISPs in markets like France, Singapore, China, and Spain no longer have such speeds as they are already considered slow.

According to Picodi, in the Philippines, a 100Mbps plan costs USD40.5, or around Php2,200, while a 1Gbps plan is at USD105.7 (~Php5,900).
The country is just below Sweden, where a similar plan costs USD42.9 (~Php2,400), and above the Dominican Republic whose such plan costs USD40.4. Topping the list is Norway, whose internet price is the most expensive at USD79.4 (~Php4,400), while Russia is at the bottom having the cheapest rate of USD5.6 (~Php311.55).
Picodi created the list by analyzing 364 internet service providers in 85 countries across the world.
The firm also checked out the bandwidth a user can get for USD20/mo (~Php1,100) in every country. This is where Latvia took the lead, where users can already get 1.2Gbps of internet for that price.
Next to that are fourteen countries that can already receive 1Gbps, followed by five countries with 600Mbps — speeds continue to drop for each country until we reach the Philippines, which is at the bottom five of the list where a USD20/mo budget can only get you 20Mbps.
