iPhone X-noypigeeks

It’s a weird bug, but it does happen to some iPhone users.

I was setting up a new iPhone the other day, and so I decided to download all the apps that I usually use. My mobile data connection during that time wasn’t really cooperating, so I had to wait for a long time for the apps to be downloaded. However, I actually had to pause and resume the download multiple times because it was getting stuck, and it’s not moving at all.

The next day, I was wondering why I’m not receiving email notifications on my phone when I clearly downloaded the app the night before. Since it’s not in my app drawer, I figured I’d just download it again. To my surprise, it was already downloaded when I fired up the App Store. In fact, there’s an “Open” button which I can use to access the app. But that’s all there is to it. I can’t find the icon in my apps and folders, even the recent apps deck doesn’t show it.

I asked some of my friends and a number of them actually experienced the same thing. They told me an easy fix, but it didn’t work out for me. I continued digging in the settings menu to find anything that could help fix my problem and I eventually found a solution.

Here are two ways on how you can restore missing apps on an iPhone

Reboot

Yes, the easiest fix to this issue is a good ol’ restart. If there’s something weird happening to your device, try rebooting it and the issue will probably go away (for some reason). It fixes 90% of gadget problems nowadays.

Enable and disable “Restrictions”

Now if the reboot solution didn’t work for you, try this one. Go to Settings > General and look for Restrictions. Tap Enable and set a 4-digit password.

After enabling it, simply disable it again and after you input the 4-digit passcode, the missing apps should now appear in your app drawer.
