After months of rumors and leaks, the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus has been finally unveiled.
Announced alongside the iPhone 15 Pro series and the Apple Watch Series 9, the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. Their main and most obvious improvement is the Dynamic Island, which used to be exclusive to the Pro models.
They use a Super Retina XDR display with Dolby Vision support and ultra-bright 2000-nits peak brightness. The vanilla is still at 6.1 inches while the Plus is at 6.7-inches. Apple has also improved the frame and the back panel with a matte texture that should keep it clean for a long time and use eco-friendly materials.
On the back, we have a sharp 48-megapixel main camera with sensor-shift OIS. The sharp sensor also enables for a 2x telephoto image that’s great for portraits.
Speaking of portraits, Apple has greatly improved the Portrait Mode on the iPhone 15 series. In fact, no need to enable the Portrait Mode as AI can detect the scene and immediately capture depth data when needed. Night Mode was also improved. However, the ultra-wide and selfie cameras are the same.
Under the hood, it will be powered by A16 Bionic chip, which powered the iPhone 14 Pro series. Apple also rigged them with bigger batteries to have the same all-day battery life.
The series will also have the new 2nd-gen connectivity chip for better tracking with Ultra-Wide Band and Apple Find My. Plus, a voice isolation feature on voice calls for clearer pick-up.
And possibly its biggest update, USB-C. After years of people’s clamor, Apple finally gave in, and we have the EU to thank for that.
The best part is, it enables reverse charging so you can charge your AirPods or any other products with your iPhone acting like a power bank.
