Apple has announced the new M3 series chip, which is found on a couple of new Macs, including the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro 2023 models.
You can get the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro 2023 with the latest M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, while only the smaller model will have a vanilla M3 option. As per Apple, the new chips bring up to 2.5x faster rendering, and up to 80% faster CPU compared to the M1 Max.
They also bring hardware-accelerated ray tracing plus, much improved battery life. Apple claims that they can last for up to 22 hours of video playback and up to 15 hours of web browsing.
Apple has also unveiled a brand new Space Black color option that’s darker than the existing Space Gray. It is also said to be less of a fingerprint magnet, albeit it’s exclusive to the M3 Pro and M3 Max options.
Another visual improvement is seen on the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3, which has thinner bezels thanks to the notch on top.
The rest of the specs and features are the same. All models will have MagSafe 3 for charging, two Thunderbolt ports, a headphone jack, an SDXC card reader, and full-size HDMI, with the M3 Pro and M3 Max getting an extra Thunderbolt 4.
