Apple has finally come up with a long overdue refresh to their MacBook Air line-up.
Both the standard MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops became extremely light and portable that we thought the company will never be making the Apple MacBook Air 2018. And obviously, that’s completely not the case.
The MacBook Air gets updated with a 13.3-inch Retina display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. It boasts 48% better colors and much smaller bezels, which is 50% narrower from its predecessor.
This new model also has a new design, which is in-line with Apple’s current aesthetics. Apple is bragging about the 2018 model’s environment-friendly materials. This laptop is made from 100% recycled aluminum, which Apple claims is still as flashy and sturdy when compared to their other models.
Speaking of design, the MacBook Air 2018 only weighs 2.75 pounds and is 15.6mm thick — this clearly justifies the MacBook Air line-up’s light and portable reputation over the years.
Other than the screen and design, the 2018 model gets to have TouchID with a dedicated Apple T2 security chip, although it doesn’t have a TouchBar, which is exclusive to the Pro models. It also has the butterfly keyboard and a Force Touch Trackpad.
Of course, Apple had to remove all of the ports that we’re accustomed to in lieu of two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port.
As for the performance, the Apple MacBook Air 2018 gets to have a dual-core 8th-Generation Intel Core i5 processor, with up to 16GB of memory and up to 1.5TB of storage. Apple also claims that despite the more powerful processor, this laptop can still achieve a 12-hour battery life.
