Lenovo was at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Spain and introduced one of the most interesting concepts at the event: the Yoga Solar PC.

The Lenovo Yoga Solar PC has a grid of small solar panels on its lid that can convert light from the sun outdoors, or light indoors, into energy that can power the laptop itself. A feature that could be useful for field workers or users going off-grid.

Lenovo primarily designed the device with sustainability and environmental friendliness in mind.

The company used 84 small solar cells, which use Black Contact Cell (BCC) technology. Compared to traditional solar panels with mounting brackets, it maximizes the exposed areas for better light collections.

It also has a dynamic solar tracking system that always measure the current and voltage to effectively distribute the collected energy to the laptop.

The solar panel has a 24% conversion rate, which Lenovo claims is “one of the highest in the industry.”

Lenovo said that a 20-minute sunlight charge can already provide an hour of video playback. The company also highlighted how they managed to whole laptop thin and light at just 15mm and 1.22kg, respectively.

Since it’s still a concept, no concrete details about the Lenovo Yoga Solar PC is available just yet.
