Globe Telecom, one of the three major telco players in the country, has announced that they deployed 587 new 5G sites across the Philippines in 2024 to match the ever-increasing demand for high-speed mobile services in the country.
The 5G rollout enhanced the 5G coverage in the National Capital Region (NCR) to 98.69%, while key cities throughout the Visayas and Mindanao also improved to 96.95%, now reaching approximately 106 towns.
“With our enhanced 5G coverage, we are delivering improved mobile experiences to our customers,” said Joel Agustin, Globe’s Head of Service Planning and Engineering. “Our investments in network infrastructure reflect our dedication to providing equal access to the digital economy for all communities in the Philippines.”

In addition to the local implementations, Globe is also expanding its footprint in the international market by partnering with 168 inbound and 182 outbound 5G partners in 99 destinations.
Globe’s 5G expansion 2024 includes building 1,212 new cell sites and upgrading 4,613 mobile sites with LTE technology, which will further enhance customer experience and support economic growth.
