Globe Telecom, one of the top telecommunications companies in the Philippines, has created a way for users to use their reward points to donate to various foundations and non-government organizations through the GlobeOne app.

This initiative is an excellent step toward a more inclusive and responsible connection in our community, especially if we have various reward points just sitting in the app. While you can use your reward points to buy mobile data and other Globe telco products, food products, and service vouchers, as well as even to join raffles, I believe it’s more beneficial to spend them on helping a cause.

In this article, we’ll learn how to use your stagnant Globe rewards to donate to various causes using the GlobeOne app.

What is the GlobeOne app? How can I earn points?

The GlobeOne app is Globe’s one-stop shop for anything relating to your Globe and TM mobile or broadband account. It can be used for paying your bills, buying cellphone loads and promos, and vouchers. You can also use this app to take an emergency load loan or redeem rewards, and, of course, you can use this for donations.

You will earn Globe reward points by purchasing loads and promos or paying bills made using the GlobeOne app. According to the website, you’ll earn one (1) point for every Php50 spent. So, if you spend Php500 on your monthly load, you’ll receive ten reward points.

The good thing about these reward points is that you can treat them like pesos. So, in essence, ten reward points are equivalent to Php10. It may seem too small at first glance, but when spent wisely and in bulk along with other users, for instance, in Donations, it will be a great help.

It’s also important to note that only transactions made via the GlobeOne app will earn points. So, if you want to earn reward points, you can connect your GlobeOne app to your GCash account for ease of payment.

Note: As you may have noticed, GlobeOne is an exclusive app for Globe and TM users. If you use a different carrier, you can’t register and use the GlobeOne app.

How can I donate My Globe Reward Points using the GlobeOne app?

Donating your Globe Reward points is easy by following this step-by-step process.

Step 1: Download and open your GlobeOne App on your mobile phone.

The GlobeOne app is available to iPhones, Android, and Huawei users. You can download the app via the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.

If you’re already enrolled in the Globe Rewards Program, you can skip the next step and jump to step 3.

Important: Before using the GlobeOne App, you should ensure that your Globe SIM card is registered pursuant to the SIM Registration Act.

Step 2: Join the Globe Rewards Program to earn points.

Before you can start earning reward points, you must first enroll in the rewards program so you can start earning points. As I mentioned earlier, you can earn points by buying a cellphone load or paying your postpaid bills on mobile or broadband plans.

Step 3: Click “Rewards” at the bottom of your GlobeOne app.

The Rewards page will show you your reward points and expiration date, your top pick, what’s hot, and the rewards catalog.Note: It’s important to check your points’ expiration date. Rather than letting them expire, you can use your upcoming expiring points as donations.

Once you enter the rewards catalog, it will show you your options:

Note: Not all rewards need your points before you can redeem them. You can get plenty of free vouchers for food and services – free of charge.

Step 5: Click “Donations.”

Once you tap Donations, a list of the foundations and non-government organizations will appear, arranged from the cheapest to the costliest (check the list of organizations below).

You can donate for as little as Php1 for 1 reward point. It’s important to remember that every peso counts when it comes to helping others. With enough people chipping in, the amount they collect for their cause will be significant.

The Donation feature in GlobeOne is a good feature to help extend help to different causes, especially during times of need, may it be on mental health, disaster relief and rehabilitation, environmental protection, education, and many more.

The Php1 minimum donation also shows that we don’t need to be rich before we can contribute to people in need, most of the time, all we need is the heart to extend help.
