Razer has a brand-new laptop. But unlike all of their products, this isn’t directed to gamers, but instead, this Tensorbook device is meant for researchers who are into machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Dubbed as the Razer x Lambda Tensorbook, this machine uses last year’s Razer Blade 15 Advanced with Lambda rigging it with Ubuntu OS.

It is said that the machine will come preinstalled with “the latest drivers and machine learning tools including PyTorch, Tensorflow, CUDA, and cuDNN,”

The Tensorbook also comes with a special silver color, violet accents, and a Razer X Lambda logo to where the triple-snake usually are.

Similar gaming hardware is still here, albeit its power is focused on machine learning and AI tasks. There’s the 11th-Gen Intel core i7 CPU, 64GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU. The laptop also has a very generous 2TB of fast NVMe SSD storage.

It then has a generous 15.6-inch screen with a 1440p pixel resolution and a speedy 165Hz refresh rate.

For ports, we have two Thunderbolt 4 inputs, three USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 2, an SD card reader, and modern wireless connectivity features such as WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

What makes this device special is the support. If you pay USD4,099 (around Php214,000), you can gain access to a special premium support team.

Lambda is said to be the hardware provider for thousands of research groups. They provide machines such as desktop workstations, servers, and cloud GPUs. It’s no surprise that Razer allowed one of its machines to be reconfigured by Lambda.
