Xiaomi is stepping up its game by releasing a full-fledged Windows 2-in-1 convertible tablet, the Xiaomi Book S 12.4.

A true tablet with laptop-like features, the Xiaomi Book S 12.4 is powered by the special Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor, a 7nm chipset clocked at 2.84GHz and an Adreno 680 GPU. It officially comes with a 5G, albeit this tablet doesn’t come with a cellular option.

The best part about this device is its Windows 11 operating system, perfect for anyone who want to do real professional or school work.

For the full experience, you can get it with the dedicated case that has a full-size keyboard with 1.3mm key travel, a touchpad, and a PU leather back with a built-in kickstand to make it look like an actual laptop.

Xiaomi has also created the smartPen for this device. It has 240Hz sampling rate with 4,096 pressure levels. The battery takes 18 minutes to be fully charged, but a 1-minute quick top-up can already provide you 20 minutes of use.

This lets you use its large display as a canvas for doodling or taking notes. The screen spans at 12.4-inches and uses an LCD panel. It has a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and a slightly taller 16:10 aspect ratio.

The display is protected by the outdated but still tough Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There’s a 1080p webcam on top for zoom calls and even has dual microphones with Qualcomm Aqstic ECNS (echo cancellation and noise suppression technology) for better voice pick-up.

For audio, the Book S 12.4 has dual speakers for a stereo setup. No quad setup, unlike other tablets, but it should be enough for video calls and watching movies.

For battery, Xiaomi claims that it can last for up to 13.4 hours, albeit the exact battery capacity was not mentioned. Charging is done via the 65W GaN adapter.

Unlike a real laptop, it lacks the right amount of ports. That said, you’re only getting a 3.5mm headphone jack, TF card slot, and a single USB Type-C port. On the upside, the latter can also be used for 4K display output.
