HONOR has officially started its limited beta testing for Android 15, starting with the HONOR Magic6 Pro and Magic V2.

This announcement coincides with the release of the second Android 15 beta for Google Pixel devices. Google also disclosed that several manufacturers, including HONOR, are participating in the Android 15 beta program.

Although the Magic V2 and Magic6 Pro and were launched around the same time, they shipped with different Android versions. The Magic6 Pro came with Android 14 pre-installed, while the foldable Magic V2 featured Android 13 out of the box.

Android 15 focuses on user control and data security. It introduces an SDK sandbox feature that confines ad services within a “sandbox,” preventing them from accessing private information. In addition, Android 15 offers a new control panel for privacy settings, allowing users to monitor and manage their data more effectively.

HONOR’s testing of this significant update suggests that its phones will have improved firmware support moving forward. Both phones will receive four major MagicOS updates.

Currently, the Android 15 beta program for the HONOR Magic V2 and Magic6 Pro remains closed to the general public and is intended solely for developers. We expect them to roll out public beta testing in a month or two.
