BlackBerry’s newest secure smartphone unveiled – BlackBerry DTEK60.

BlackBerry went ahead and released a follow-up to the DTEK50, a mid-range smartphone launched in the early part of this year.

Much like its little brother, it also borrowed its design and body from TCL. The BlackBerrt DTEK60 flaunts a 5.5-inch Quad HD display in front with a dual-glass panel design on both sides. There’s a metal frame on the sides to make it even more premium. And to add to that, it’s very slim measuring only 7mm at its thickest point.

BlackBerry DTEK60 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM, making it rise to the high-end spectrum. On the storage side, there’s only 32GB onboard but it’s expandable by up to 2TB.

The company prides itself with their hardened security prowess, which will also encrypt the DTEK60 on top of the Android OS. Since security is its utmost concern, there’s also a fingerprint scanner placed on the back for easier access.

Just this month, the BlackBerry DTEK50 has been made available in the Philippines for Php14,990. It has an international SRP of $299, so we got it for a good price considering it’s almost the same as direct conversion. We’re hoping that we would get the same pricing in the BlackBerry DTEK60.

These BlackBerry smartphones aren’t aimed for the public, but rather for the businesses and governments. Still, it’ll be available for purchase for everyone concerned about their security.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 is now available in the US for a price of $499 (~Php24,100).
