Cherry Mobile’s Flare lineup of smartphones is one with notable if not great releases, and one new member has piqued our interest once more. The upcoming Cherry Mobile Flare Dash is a quad-core Android Jelly Bean smartphone with dual-SIM capability and 4-inch display for just Php3,699.
For everyone wondering where the local Android KitKat devices are, they’re coming—so relax. The Cherry Mobile Flare Dash, for instance, runs Jelly Bean 4.3 out of the box, but is guaranteed to be upgradeable to KitKat 4.4. It isn’t like the CM Urban that’s preloaded with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, but at least we know more devices are getting updated software-wise.
Cherry Mobile Flare Dash Specs
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
- 4-inch capacitive screen
- 1.2GHz quad-core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 4GB internal storage
- 5-megapixel main camera, with LED flash
- 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front camera
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
The specs above are what have been disclosed so far. But by basing on the company’s other smartphones within the Cherry Mobile Flare Dash’s price range, there should be microSD support, 3G connectivity, and an adequate battery capacity in there. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect FWVGA resolution (or higher), USB OTG, and the ability to install apps on the microSD card either.
Release date for the Cherry Mobile Flare Dash (to sell for Php3,699) hasn’t been revealed, but we’ve learned that all devices in the company’s 2014 pricelist will all be available before the month of June ends.
