Cherry Mobile’s Flare series of smartphones is about to get a new member, one that comes boasting a front-facing camera that’s just as powerful as its rear-facing counterpart. It’s aptly named the Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie.

It’s not yet made official by the company, but a couple of photos of the Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie has been spotted on a Facebook fan group for the Flare X. The photos don’t show the actual smartphone itself but rather its box and smartphone specs. With Android 5.1 already preinstalled, the Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie features a 5-inch IPS display with HD (720×1280) resolution, 1.3GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It further offers dual SIM configuration, 3000mAh battery and 4G LTE connectivity. A fingerprint icon on the box seems to suggest that this phone also has a fingerprint sensor.

As a smartphone that’s obviously aimed for the selfie aficionados, the Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie offers a 16-megapixel front-facing camera along with a rear-facing camera with the same resolution. Camera resolution alone isn’t exactly a clear indication of whether or not the phone can produce great selfies, but we’re betting Cherry Mobile has chosen a good (if not great) image sensor with a decent sensor size. We’re also hoping for auto-beautification, HDR and other useful features, but we’ll have to wait for Cherry Mobile to reveal the full details about its upcoming smartphone.

Pricing and availability information are not yet officially available, but expect this phone to arrive in 2016.
