Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0 is official

Cherry Mobile’s super slim smartphone just got thinner and lighter. Reborn as the Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0, this sleek device is just 7mm thin and weighs 100 grams!

To recap and for comparison, the original Cherry Mobile Razor is a 4.5-inch smartphone running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Its qHD IPS display is noted for using the tough Dragontrail glass for enhanced scratch protection. Hardware innards include a quad-core processor, PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The Razor went for sale last year with an initial price of Php 6,499. But as per the latest Cherry Mobile smartphone pricelist, it now only costs Php4,999.

Move on to the Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0, and we now have a larger screen at 4.7 inches. Screen resolution has also been upped to 720p or HD, resulting to a higher pixel density at 312ppi. Camera resolution has also been increased to 12-megapixels. That number does sound great over the original Razor’s 8MP camera, but we can’t say it’s really better until we have our official review.

The Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0’s other specs remain the same as those of its predecessor. Internal storage and RAM stayed at 4GB and 1GB, respectively. The processor powering the device still also has four cores, clocked at 1.2GHz, though we hope it’s better than the original Razor’s MediaTek MT6589 chip. Battery capacity isn’t known for now, but we hope it’s been upgraded despite the slimmer profile.

The Cherry Mobile Razor 2.0 will sell for Php6,499 with an odd bundle of a free USB cable.
