Huawei has outed the successor to its A199 smartphone released last year. Bigger and more powerful, the 5.5-inch Huawei B199 is a dual-SIM smartphone with a metal-clad back cover.

As a sequel, the Huawei B199 has opted for a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor instead of an in-house chip. Other specs remain the same: 720p screen resolution (resulting in a pixel density of around 267ppi), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (with microSD external expansion), and dual 3G. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean runs out of the box. A 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, along with a 5-megapixel front shooter, is available for taking videos and photos.

Also worthy of note is the Huawei B199’s larger battery capacity at 3000mAh, up from the A199’s 2100mAh. It may not be as long-lasting as the one found in the Ascend Mate 2 4G announced last week, but it can be also be used to charge other devices thru a special cable. This may come in handy for those who carry around more than one smartphone, despite the fact that the B199 can use two SIMs already.

The Huawei B199 is slated to launch in China in 4 days’ time for CNY1,999 (or around Php14,900 in today’s exchange).
