LG G5 Philippines price

This year, LG has taken a radical approach to its flagship smartphone. The recently unveiled LG G5 offers a whole new level of functionality thanks to one revolutionary feature—a modular type design.

A couple of years ago, Project Ara made us rethink the way we can use our smartphones, but this Google project still isn’t ready for primetime. No problem: the LG G5 is the next best thing. The phone’s bottom piece can be swapped out for a module that gives it special abilities. Insert the LG CAM Plus module, for instance, and you get additional physical buttons for controlling the 16-megapixel main camera. The Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY module turns the G5 into a fantastic audio play with premium sound playback. These are the two modules that have been revealed so far, but hopefully LG will add more.

The modular design isn’t the only fun (and rather gimmicky) feature of the LG G5. The smartphone also comes with plenty of accessories, including the LG 360 VR (virtual reality headset), LG 360 CAM (360-degree video recorder) and LG Rolling bot (smart home monitor). Suffice to say, the G5 is versatile.

Despite all the bells and whistles, the LG G5 is still a smartphone. It has top-shelf components that make it better and faster than its G4 predecessor. That, and the G5 has also transformed its appearance: an all-metal unibody design that still retains a removable battery and microSD slot. To some, the Galaxy S7 still wins in terms of look and feel, but the G5’s new guise is still worthy of praise.
