MediaTek just announced its latest flagship chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, which comes with better power efficiency, NPU, image processor, and more.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is built on the TSMC 3nm process (N3E) and consists of one Cortex-X925 core at 3.6GHz, three Cortex-X4 at 3.3GHz, and four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores at 2.4GHz.

MediaTek claims the chip boasts 35% faster single-core and 28% better multi-core performance. It also has a 15% increase in IPC (Instructions per Cycle).
For AI tasks, there’s the NPU 890 which consumes 35% less energy and enables in-device AI features like corrective fill in photos, detailed 100x zoom, and improved power efficiency when shooting 4K@60fps videos.
Speaking of videos, the chip has an Imagiq 1090 ISP for HDR video capture from any lens.
For the GPU, MediaTek used the new Immortalis-G925 which has 1612MHz speeds. MediaTek says it’s 41% faster, 40% better ray tracing performance, and 44% more power efficient.

The new chip also supports LPDDR5X RAM with 10.7Gbps speeds and has 100% more L2 cache and 50% more L3 cache.
MediaTek has already shipped the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 to Android makers and we will first see it in action on the OPPO Find X8 and vivo X200 series coming this quarter.
