After the big success of the Red Dead Redemption 2, its predecessor, the Red Dead Redemption, and its expansion pack Undead Nightmare, are finally arriving in PC.

When they first launched 14 years ago, the first Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare were exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Now, the games are finally launching on PC on October 29, 2024.

The PC port was developed by Double Eleven, the same company that brought the game to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023.

It will have enhancements specific to PCs like native 4K resolution with up to 144Hz, 21:9 Ultrawide monitors at 21:9, and even Super Ultrawide screens with a 32:9 aspect ratio. It will also have HDR10 support, NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, and of course, was designed to work well with a keyboard and mouse.

Rockstar added that players can adjust draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more.

Apart from being a classic, the interest in the first RDDR sparked after the release of its critically acclaimed prequel, Red Dead Redemption 2.

For those who are not familiar, the RDDR follows the journey of former outlaw John Marston, after his family was taken hostage by the government and tasked him to be a hired gun as a ransom.

It’s an open-world, third-person game that mimics the life of an actual cowboy — complete with horseback riding, gunslinging, and more.
