A 3G version of the MyPhone Rio Junior has surfaced at the company’s official website.

The MyPhone Rio Junior 3G is easily mistakable for its 2G-only predecessor, because its outward design is more or less the same. Even that tiled pattern below the capacitive buttons is present. What has changed is a few of the hardware inside.

Obviously, the most notable addition in the MyPhone Rio Junior 3G is its enhanced mobile connectivity. The amount of RAM has doubled from 256MB to 512MB, while the measly 512MB internal storage is now a more generous 4GB.

MyPhone Rio Junior 3G Specs

  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen (320×480 HVGA), ~165ppi
  • 1.3GHz dual core MediaTek MT6571 processor
  • Mali-400 GPU
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB internal storage

  • 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front camera

The remaining specs remain the same: dual-core processor, 3.5-inch display and Mali 400 graphics. Camera resolutions are 1.3 megapixels at the back and 0.3 megapixels in front. In addition, the MyPhone Rio Junior 3G features dual SIM with dual standby, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM radio. Internal storage can be expanded via the microSD slot for up to 32GB. Android 4.4 KitKat is the preinstalled operating system. Like the original Junior, the 3G version has several colors available for its back cover.

When it hits retail stores, the MyPhone Rio Junior 3G costs Php2,199 with a free 150MB of mobile data consumption every month for one year.
