It’s pretty obvious that MyPhone has hit it big with their Rio line. MyPhone has seen fit to introduce just about every variant of the Rio series you can think of. And this time around, it’s a super entry level smartphone we’re talking about.

As if the Rio Fun and Rio Craze weren’t already stripped of many features you would expect on a smartphone, the MyPhone Rio Junior actually knocks it a peg or two lower. It features a 3.5 inch, micro SD support for up to 32GB cards, a 1.3mp rear camera and a 1,300mAh battery. Did I mention it’s also dual SIM capable?

Unfortunately, the RAM and storage have been omitted from the official MyPhone Rio Junior spec list for now. When a device maker withholds particular specs from the official spec list, that usually means the specifications being withheld are crap. So expect something along the lines of 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM.

Still, this is just an early teaser as MyPhone hasn’t even officially announced the Rio Junior on their Facebook Page. Don’t expect it to compete against other reasonably-specced budget phones though. Expect something more along the lines of a feature phone running a smartphone’s OS. Hey, grade schoolers have got to have smartphones too, right?

  2. Tsk. Di na makikinig & magno-note-taking ang mga bata… Kukunan na lang ng video ang lecture & kukunan ng pic ang black/white board. Kakalat din ang upskirts ni Ma’m Teacher at iba pang grade school scandal. *smh*

  3. best if this comes with shock protection – the better to absorb abuse from gradeschoolers….
