Samsung has yet to hold an official announcement, but a new premium smartphone is already making rounds on the Internet. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is rumored to be even more powerful than the current S5 flagship. Here is what we think we know so far.

  • First off, the Galaxy S5 Prime supposedly caters to what people have been asking for on a premium Samsung device: an aluminum body.
  • The handset is expected to feature the faster Snapdragon 805 CPU, Adreno 420 graphics, and 3GB of RAM. For comparison, the original S5 sports a Snapdragon 801, Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM.
  • The display apparently measures 5.2-inches and uses a quad-HD resolution (1440×2560). This translates to a pixel density of 565ppi. The same resolution is also rumored to be used by the upcoming LG G3.
  • Release date for the Galaxy S5 Prime is unknown, but it shouldn’t be too long given the increasing leaks and reports.
