Believing that the time is ripe for cryptocurrencies and NFTs to go mobile, tech company Solana Labs revealed through its subsidiary Solana Mobile its flagship Android smartphone Saga, which features Solana blockchain integration and convenient web3 transactions.

Solana Labs CEO and co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko said during the unveiling event that there are currently 100 million people with digital assets and 7 billion smartphone users. Expecting these numbers to continue growing, he added that Solana Saga will “set a new standard for the web3 experience” and increase crypto adoption and opportunities on mobile.

To achieve these goals, the Solana Mobile Stack was also introduced alongside the Saga. It’s a bundle of products, such as a seed vault, mobile wallet adapter, and Solana Pay with a planned store for decentralized apps. The SDK for Solana Mobile Stack is already available for developers.

As a flagship device, the Solana Saga offers high-end hardware specs. These include a 6.67-inch OLED display, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB internal storage. It also delivers great performance as it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 Mobile Platform.

The Solana Saga is now available for preorder for $100, which will be deducted to the anticipated $1,000 price. Shipping is estimated to be early 2023.
