One of the good things about owning high-profile smartphones is their maker’s guarantee to update them to more recent versions of Android. Indian manufacturer Micromax, though not as widely known as tech giants Samsung and HTC, is just as dedicated to its smartphone portfolio. As many as ten of its devices are planned for a 4.4 KitKat upgrade.

To enumerate, the devices getting the upgrade are the Canvas 4, Canvas Turbo, and other models in the Canvas series: Doodle 2 A240, A117, A116, A116i, A114, A111, A110, and A110Q. Some other phones will also be upgraded to Android 4.1 or 4.2.1. Though this news is most welcoming for users who own the aforementioned Micromax devices, the leaked internal documentation that disclosed Micromax’s upgrade plans sadly does not mention a timetable for the roll out.
