Realme is still the #1 smartphone brand in the Philippines. Sell-in shipment estimates show that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is the top smartphone vendor in the country during the second quarter of 2022.
According to market analyst firm Canalys, Realme managed to carve out a 20-percent unit share and climb to the top spot (though the company never lost the title based on local data from IDC), despite seeing a 21-percent year-on-year decline.
Samsung finished fifth during the quarter with a 14-percent unit share and 14-percent year-on-year growth.
However, the South Korean tech giant remains the worldwide leading smartphone brand. Q2 2022 global data from Canalys saw Samsung taking a 21-percent market share, which is up three percent from the same quarter in 2021.
Worldwide smartphone shipments suffered a 9-percent year-on-year decrease in Q2 2022.
