Science fiction no more. Human-like robots have been around for years, and now, they are slowly creeping into the mainstream market thanks to brands such as Xiaomi, who just released the CyberOne.

Unlike everything we’ve seen before, the Xiaomi CyberOne comes with advanced arms and legs, bipedal-motion posture balancing, peak torque of 300Nm, and other features that make it intelligent — making it the most impressive humanoid robot we’ve seen.

The robot also has advanced vision capabilities, and can even detect human emotions. It also has a function that allows it to create three-dimensiional virtual reconstruction of the real world. These are just some of the advanced tech this humanoid have.

Xiaomi was proud to revel that the CyberOne’s AI and mechanical features were developed by its own robotics lab. Xiaomi head Lei Jun said that they invested heavily in R&D in different areas like hardware, software, and algorithms innovation for the development of the robot.

The CyberOne is 5 feet 8 inches (177cm) tall, weighs 52kg, and has an arm span of 168cm.

Compared to last year’s CyberDog, which is a quadruped robot, this one is said to be more mechanically complex, requires more powerful motors, more degrees of freedom, and has complex humanoid biped control algorithms.

To analyze its environment, the CyberOne has the company’s Mi-Sense depth vision module paired with AI interaction algorithm. This allows the robot to understand 3D spaces, people, gestures, and expressions. It also has special AI engines that helps it recognize 85 types of environmental sounds and classifications of human emotion.

We’ll see how it stacks up with the upcoming Tesla Optimus.
