Instagram briefly tested the screenshot alert feature back in February. Several months after, they are now shutting it down.
The company has confirmed that it is no longer testing the said feature and it has been removed altogether.
This is fantastic news for people who love taking screenshots of other people’s stories and meddling with their life. Creepers will no longer get caught as well, as they can now screenshot everything at will.
Unlike Snapchat, Instagram didn’t really make the screenshot alert a big deal. It only puts a circular icon beside the name of the person who took a screenshot, which isn’t really that recognizable at all.
As usual, users will still be able to see who viewed their IG stories by swiping up.
