Threads, Meta’s new platform that will rival Twitter, is finally live. It’s now available in 100 countries, which includes the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines.

However, due to stricter privacy laws, select markets won’t be able to experience all the features of the platforms. Threads is based heavily on Instagram, only this will allow you to post texts, have better conversations, and more, other than just posting photos and videos.

To log in, you only need to sign in to your Instagram account, which means that your Thread will also use the same username. Accounts of users under 16 (or under 18 in some countries) will be set to provide by default when they join.

The platform will also allow you to easily follow the accounts you do on Instagram. Your feed will then show posts from the people you follow and creators you’re yet to discover.

Each Threads post can be 500 characters long, which can also include photos, videos up to 5 minutes long, and links. Your posts can be easily shared on your Instagram Story or copy the link and post it on any other platform.

The Meta Threads is now available on iOS and Android.
