The popular dating app and networking platform, Bumble, maintains its commitment to safety for its users as it launches Deception Detector, which aims to filter out malicious users even before others could see them on the app.

Using a powerful AI algorithm, Deception Detector helps the system identify scams, spam, and fake profiles. The launch of the feature coincides with the Safer Internet Day.

Within just the first two months since the functionality was introduced, Bumble has managed to reduce the aforementioned malicious cases by 45 percent.

Part of the implementation of Deception Detector comes from a study that pointed to the issue of fake profiles as the top concern among Bumble users. Almost half of the women respondents—or 46 percent—cited concerns over profile authenticity as a cause of anxiety.

Unaddressed, the aforementioned issues would have the potential to influence a person to miss out on meaningful connections that would otherwise provide a positive impact in their lives.

On top of the reliable and powerful capability of the Deception Detector, Bumble is also employing dedicated human support to uphold a safe and empowering community.

Since entering the market, Bumble has maintained its dedication to fighting harassment, misogyny, and toxicity online. It even came up with the industry-first Private Detector for identifying and blurring lewd photos as well as using AI for photo identification.

More recently, Bumble has also launched Best Bees, which offers a higher degree of curation among members, and Bumble for Friends, which gives users custom, substantial messages when establishing a new connection.
