Tinder has rolled out a new subscription offer—dubbed Tinder Select—but only to its most active users for now, according to new report. The newest offer is the app’s most expensive yet at $500 a month (~$6,000 a year), which grants subscribers access to unique functionalities, such as exclusive search and matching.
Taking the subscription as aimed at making an “elite” among its “extremely active” subscribers, Tinder is currently offering the subscription to less than one percent of its subscribers. The number reflects the dating platform’s most avid users.
As told via Bloomberg, the Tinder Select subscription will also soon be open for applications on a rolling basis. The company, however, did not disclose when precisely would that be. Talks about the exclusive membership for the popular dating app go back to 2019.

Tinder’s parent company, Match Group, reported a revenue of about $475 million in Q2 2023, indicating a 6 percent year-on-year growth. This comes despite the number of users willing to pay for a Tinder subscription dropping by 4 percent to 10.5 million.
Match Group President Gary Swidler, during the Citi conference held in early September, said he believes that Tinder Select could influence the company’s overall income.
This is not Match Group’s first rodeo in providing exclusive privileges to dating. In 2022, it launched “The League,” which fits exactly the criterion. Also, Tinder is not new to paid subscriptions as it currently has three in offer—Plus, Gold, and Platinum.
Each tier comes with its unique features, such as the ability to chat with someone before matching under the Platinum subscription.
